Through the IHM Children’s Choir, your child will gain a heightened awareness of spirituality and the ministry of music, both individually as well as communally.  Throughout their training they will learn not only a sense of excellence but also a true sense of purpose to their music making.  They will become a great light to all those who hear them sing!

Rehearsals:

  • Joyful Noise K-2nd : Wednesday, 3:30-4:00 p.m. in the DeMazenod Room
  • St. Gregory, St. Cecilia: Wednesday, 4:15-5:30 p.m. in the DeMazenod Room

Joyful Noise Choir

The Joyful Noise Choir is a preparatory choir for grades Kindergarten to 2nd starting in September. This is a program fit for young beginners in the music making process. They will be learning fun music and music learning games. Joyful Noise choir will have four liturgies they will serve at, as well as service oriented performances at local venues that will brighten spirits of those who need their joyful noise for the Lord!

St. Gregory Choir

The St. Gregory Choir is open to all students. Students entering this choir will have had little formal choral training. They will be in a preparatory level of the choir with a mentor from the higher choir. Through participation in this choir, students will learn proper singing technique and music reading. In order for students to qualify to move into the next level in choir, the students must complete the first two workbooks in the Voice for Life series. Each work book finished will earn a medal.

St. Cecilia Choir

The St. Cecelia Choir is the next level up in the choirs. Students in this choir must be able to read music and sing with proper choral technique and sound in order to be placed in this choir. The next two workbooks in the Voice for Life series will be worked on by the students and at the completion of these books will receive a silver medal.

School Choir/Cantors

These groups consist of students who lead the music ministry at the School Masses on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. Practices are during Liturgical Music Classes once per week.
