“I Have Decided O God, I Will Sing of Your Glory”

Welcome to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Music Department! The primary choir of this community of faith is the gathered assembly, united in offering in song of praise and thanksgiving to God. If you would like to deepen your involvement in the Church’s liturgy through music, there are many opportunities for adults and children. Chamber Choir

Chamber Choir is an ensemble that is a true ministry to support the Gospel message through song and challenges the assembly to live it more fully. The goal is to develop a prayerful, singing assembly through preparation, celebration and evaluation, through education and personal ministry. The Chamber Choir is for ages 16+. No experience or music reading skills necessary. All voice parts are needed including soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Come share fellowship and song together.

Rehearsal: Thursdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the church

Sing: Sundays, 8:30 a.m.  or 11:00 a.m. mass

Bell Choir

Bells have a rich history in the life of a community or church. During the Middle Ages, without clocks, peasants relied on the village bell to call the time for work, prayer, and meals. It is said that a person never forgot the sound of his village bell, no matter how many miles he was away from home. Bells have a way to call us into worship and liturgy.

IHM has a long tradition of handbells in liturgy. If you are interested in being a part of this group, we invite you to join us. Prior experience with bells is helpful, but not mandatory. The ability to read music is the minimum requirement for this group.

Cantor

All cantors are expected to be an active part of an IHM choir and/or ensemble. Cantors receive music for rehearsals and are expected to have extra practice with the director.

Resurrection Choir

This group consists of seniors and other adults that sing September through December at one 8:30 weekend Mass per month as well as providing the music ministry for all of our funerals. Practices are twice per month. This group may also perform at other special events or occasions.
