Visitation of The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared in Mexico as the pregnant Mother of God to Saint Juan Diego, an Indian, in 1531.  She left a Miraculous Image of her appearance on his cactus fiber cloak which still exists today.

The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, an exact 4 by 6 ft. digital replica of the original Miraculous Image will be in Grand Rapids September 12 to 30 to promote the sanctity of the family, solidarity of the Church in America, a culture of life and a civilization of love. You are invited to join us for the presentation, prayers or veneration for Life, Peace and Protection of the Unborn.

2:00 pm – Presentation – History of Our Lady of Guadalupe

2:30 pm – Rosary for the Protection of the Unborn

3:00 pm – Divine Mercy Chaplet

3:15 pm – Veneration of the Image Replica  (personal reflection and veneration)

4:00 pm – Procession of the Image to the Chapel of the Holy Eucharist

Movie Night Tuesday, September 17 at 7 pm in the deMazenood Room for ‘Guadalupe the Miracle and the Message’ narrated by Jim Caviezel and presented by the Knights of Columbus. Open to the parish.

IHM School Prayer Service on Wednesday, Sept. 25th at 8:30 a.m. will include the Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe along with songs and veneration to Mary.

IHM will host the Image Monday, September 23rd at Mercy St Mary’s Hospital Chapel from 11:30  – 1 pm for staff and patient veneration.

IHM will also be guardians of the Image on September 25 along with Sacred Heart Parish for the first day of sidewalk prayer for 40 Days for Life, from 11-2 pm pending weather.
