At Immaculate Heart of Mary School, we are proud to offer a variety of opportunities to engage every student. We encourage students to be active participants in our school and parish community and to find opportunities to serve Christ and better themselves. Below are some of the clubs and activities we offer.

Students in grades 3 through 8 can participate in Student Council. Elected by their classmates, two representatives per grade and four 8th grade officers comprise the group, which focuses on service projects and making IHM a great place to be.
We offer band for students in grades 5 through 8. If your child is interested in playing an instrument, please contact Mrs. Vander Tuin, our band and music teacher.
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is a program for 3rd through 5th-grade girls intended to inspire them “to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.” Over ten weeks of practices, participating girls will prepare to complete a non-competitive, celebratory 5K in downtown Grand Rapids. For more information about Girls on the Run, visit the Kent County website: www.kcgotr.org.
For more information, check out the Ski Club web page.
Junior High Enrichment Classes
Our 6th through 8th-grade students have the opportunity to participate in an enrichment class at the end of the school day. Taught by our junior high teachers, the classes provide our students with time to explore their interests outside the core academic areas. This year, the courses offered are yearbook, debate & journalism, video production, math club and Science Olympiad.
