To conclude our vigil,  IHM 8th grade students will lead us in the all-school outdoor rosary, attended by Bishop Walkowiak.

ENROLLMENT INFORMATION!   Thanks to the good work of our Board of Education and Parish Finance Council, the numbers are in for next year’s tuition.  They were able to keep the tuition increase for the 2017-18 School Year to 2%.  They also lowered the registration fee per child. This is a boon for our current families but is contingent on registration being turned in on or before Wednesday, April 12 at 3:15 pm.  After that date, registration fees for current families will double. Details forthcoming!

TUESDAY  was the first meeting of the Divine Mercy Kids Club. This club is for students first through eighth grade and we meet every Tuesday during the lunchtime recess in the Library. Our first club meeting was off to a great start 27 students participating! It’s never too late to join.

LUMINARIES FOR LIFE NEXT MONDAY MORNING  Join our 8th graders, IHM parents, parishioners, friends, pastor and Bishop Walkowiak for our annual Luminaries for Life Prayer Vigil next Monday, January 23. Arrive anytime after 6am  to walk and pray for an end to abortion; for mercy on our country for this assault on the most vulnerable; and healing for those living with the effects of having had an abortion. Stay as long as you are able. We will be ending with an all-school/community rosary outside at 8:00 am at the front statue of Mary.

DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE 5TH GRADE FRANCISCAN EXPERIENCE?  It’s  an On-the-Farm, In-the-Field, and Through-the-Forest curriculum, exclusive to the Immaculate Heart of Mary School. Each quarter, 5th graders spend an entire week at the Franciscan Life Process Center/Farm in Lowell engaging in activities from breadmaking, to snowshoeing; caring for the farm animals,  daily rosary walks, music classes–this in addition to instruction in their core subjects. It’s not a camp as our kids are bused back and forth each day.   What better way to learn about God’s creation than by working and learning in it!   Disciples first, and then diplomas.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK 2017  Begins with Mass the weekend of Jan 28/29 and runs through Feb 4. Plan on the kids wearing their BEST school uniform to Mass that weekend and they will receive a Jeans Day that Monday, Jan 30th.

FAMILY IN NEED   Mrs. Tiana Madison (mom to Myah Y5’s and Matthew 1st) has been hospitalized with kidney complications from Lupus. We’ve offered to help her husband Keih, in her absence, by providing meals three times a week for the next month or so. There have been many IHM families blessed by your meals this year alone. Thank you, in advance, for including the Madison Family in those blessings. Sign up here:

A Note from our Librarian, Mrs. Amy West:

“Hi all, Just a quick note to clarify…in case you’ve heard the news. My husband’s job is now taking us on to our next adventure – Chicago. I’m not positive of my last day, but Brian leaves us to start the job in a couple weeks. Cooper and I will follow…we just don’t have details ironed out yet. BUT, I’m working with Mr. Thomasma to get it all figured out… I want you to know that I’ll be doing everything I can to make the transition for your kiddos seamless. AND I really want the new librarian to keep moving things in the direction I was trying to go! This is not ideal. Not how we THOUGHT our 2017 would start! BUT, it’s far from the end of the world and we are grateful for the opportunity… It’s just very hard to even think of leaving IHM. 😥As we figure this all out, we’ll keep you posted. Thanks for your patience and prayers. :)Amy

CORRECTION:  Luminaries for LIFE will be observed on Monday, January 23.               Not the 22nd as mentioned in yesterday’s post.
